Hello and welcome

Before I get going, I want to say that I ripped off the blog idea from my brother and sister-in-law. Now, I understand blogs are not a new idea, but it wouldn't have occurred to me to do this unless they hadn't. Fortunately, I've signed no royalty contracts with them. Ok, so let's talk about Logan.

There are a number of things to say about the boy. I guess we (Diane and I) were surprised at the difficulty of having this child in our house. He has very cruelly destroyed the life we knew, and hasn't cared a wit about it. In fact, he's had the audacity to come in here and demand that we feed him 8 times a day and act as an on-call poop-cleaning service. God forbid we don't jump when he's ready. That little man will squall like someone is pouring acid on his little weenie, until we do. Its amazing what that cry does to you. We have found him to be a bit of a petulant boy when it comes to putting him down for a nap. He tends to be a bit of a princess, wanting to be held, rocked, sung to, and paid to go to sleep. Its very bad for my lack of patience. The magic bullet for that (so far) is a ride in the car. He's as bad as Rufus. I have developed a nickname for our sweet little boy. Since he's erupts on both ends of his body (in squalls and poops), I've decided to call him Mt. Logan. In any case, he's very healthy and looking good. He has put on over 2 lbs and grown 2 inches since he was born.

Diane and I are battling tiredness, and Diane has had a real rough go of things since the birth, so it has been pretty tough. However, we've had an outpouring of help from many people...andrea, angie, dad, drew, frank jr, frank sr, jesse, joanne, kaycee, mom, rita, sandra, and so on. Sorry if I've missed someone. I'd like to especially thank Sandra, who has been a bountiful resource to us. For anyone else who wishes to help, send cash. we except bills in increments of $100.

Ok. On to the Pics.

Here's mom and baby. Mom had taken quite a beating during delivery, but she made a nice recovery. Logan was undoubtedly contemplating what he was going to eat for lunch. Likely formula. Mmmmmmmmmm.

Auntie Andrea holds Logan. He's happy about this.

Grandma Barb holds Logan. He's happy about this.

Auntie Sandra holds Logan. He's happy about this.

This is about as small as he'll ever be. With luck, he'll look as good when he's old as he does now. He'll have to lose the pacifier though. My brother made comment to me, that I would go into his nursery from day to day and very often, I'd look at him and see that he had changed and looked different. He was right. This little boy doesn't really look like he did 3 weeks ago. He has increased is body weight 33% and his height by 10%. Tiring.

Elder (and cuter) cousin Camille is making sure Logan is really all he says he is. Hopefully her appraisal is acceptable.

Logan is passed out in his Pop's lap.

Here's mom and Logan. He's got the arm action going. Hopefully it doesn't fall asleep on him. That would suck.

Apparently, no little boy likes to be clean...looks like ours is no different. You'd think the world had ended.

Logan is happy about something...probably the successful circumcision.

This is what I refer to as the "milk buzz" look. Here, Logan has just finished eating, he needs to be burped and he's breathing like a 600 lb man. Dude. Just eat slower.

Pops is a good burper. Mt. Logan intends on ruining a few shirts.

Either Logan is taking a huge dump, or he's just realized formula isn't the only thing one can eat.

Here's Logan in his "jail-bait" outfit. I think he was charged with disturbing the peace, and destruction of expensive diapers. All charges were dropped, as his lack of remorse made it impossible to rehab his poor decisions. The case may be opened later on.

This is Logan's, "chocolate auntie" (this term was originated by rita herself). Logan will need Auntie Rita's guidance as he grows up.

That's about it for now. Of course, we will be taking boatloads of pics and posting more. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to drop a line on this blog.

Handsom Boy! Great Job! Entertaining Blog. Take it from me, the Pater Familias of the infamous Hurricane Zane, it gets better and better from here on out. Well....until teething, then it starts all over again. Oh, face it man, your life is over. Time to just suck it up and get to work.
Congratulations on a beautiful baby boy.

How cute, but the pictures do not capture how cute he really is.

We are so happy about this handsome addition to your family. Treat him well. He may keep you out of the nursing home some day. Much love, Lowell and Terry Bass

Hola! I really enjoyed looking at Logan's pictures and reading your blog. Logan has changed so much from the last time I saw him which was only one week ago. Yes it is rough but it WILL get better as I'm sure you've heard a million times before. Just wait till he starts "talking" and smiling at you and Diane. I sure do miss him and think about all of you, especially when I'm up at 2 a.m. because I bet you're up too. Give "my hito" a big hug and kiss from all of us and tell Rufus we miss him too. Hope to see you all soon. Take care of yourselves. Can't wait to read more and see more pictures!

What a beautiful little boy! As hard as it may be to do with barely any rest, please remember to treasure the times when he is little and wants to be cuddled, held, and sang to. Those moments disappear very quickly and they become so independent and want to do everything on their own. They are a true blessing to any family and a wonderful memory maker (sometimes in the worst way possible) wait until they poop all over you and it seems like it just keeps coming. Just say to yourself "What a joy". Good Job You Two!
